Kris has an extensive background in sports medicine, women’s health and hospital administration.
She holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Columbia University.
In 1993 her professional career began at St. Luke’s/ Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. After two years of practice as a staff physical therapist she was promoted to Senior Clinician. In 2000 she accepted the Administrative position of Supervisor of Rehabilitation Services. Supervising 40 therapists between two hospital sites, she expanded her clinical knowledge in women’s health as well as honed her management skills.
In 2004 Kris left the hospital center and opened her own private physical therapy practice housed within the Pilates Teacher Training Program of the Kane School of Core Integration in New York City. She completed her full equipment Pilates teacher certification in 2003 and her teacher certification in GYROTONIC® in 2004. She added Kettlebell Concepts Teacher Training in the spring of 2004 and is currently a Senior Kettlebell Instructor.
Kris continues to be featured on Lifetime TV’s “Real Women” as an example of someone who has a professional career yet continues to pursue a sport she loved and competed in as a child. After a 17 year hiatus she returned to competitive figure skating and went on to win the 1998 United States Figure Skating Associations Adult National Championship in Silver Ladies.
She has since moved on to qualify several times for the Adult National Championships in Gold Ladies as well. Kris resides in Palm Desert, California where she has her own business, Kristine Marie, LLC located in Studio 150. She enjoys melding her education in traditional physical therapy with her training in Pilates, GYROTONIC® & Kettlebells to provide a unique experience in movement/fitness.
